The Sr. Chemical Operator performs chemical operation tasks; blending, extracting, drying, distillations, effecting size reductions with capability to perform and become certified in all processes involved in the full product line of the site. This position is located at our Rochester, NY plant and works a rotational schedule to maintain 24-hour operation of the manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safe and efficient operation of assigned process areas such that all regulatory, health, safety and environmental requirements are satisfied.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ISO requirements.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste during the normal operation of this position.
  • Constantly strive to improve process knowledge, obtain new certifications and maintain existing certifications.
  • Inform supervision in a timely manner of conditions which may affect safety, quality, capacity or cause a process equipment hazard.
  • Plan and respond to emergencies that involve hazardous waste.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED; preferred Associates degree.
  • 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment; will consider entry level candidates.
  • Chemical manufacturing or chemical experience background highly preferred.
  • Familiar and comfortable with computers and hand tools.
  • Must be able and willing to accommodate the rotating shift schedule.
