Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital. Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. Averaging 17 procedures a day, the lab features four cardiac cath rooms and one EP/Stereotaxis room. Procedures include: cardiac caths, PCIs, Peripheral diagnostics and intervention, EP, Ablations, PPM and ICDs.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate or Trade School Equivalent
  • Experience: 2-5 years
  • Licenses & Certifications: IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRI R.T.(R), CT,MR,M,BD,CI,VI,RCIS

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: 5-10 years
  • Licenses & Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Intravenous Therapy

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
  • Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other site as required by work area.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance for the department (ACR, JC).
  • Maintains up-to-date regulatory information.
  • Oversees department quality assurance program under the direction of the Clinical Instructor or Lead/Charge.
  • Participates in department or hospital safety/quality process improvements and initiatives.
  • Leads the team in improving patient experience and/or improving employee engagement.
  • Mentors new employee and/or clinical students under the direction of the CI.
