This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. This role supports the development and operations of test facilities for our internally developed rocket engines, launch vehicles, and landers across Blue Origin. As part of a hardworking team of designers and engineers, you will be responsible to create models, drawings, and configurations of ground system hardware with a focus on mechanical and fluid systems including structures, piping, and components. You will provide CAD and PLM support to generate models and drawings. You will incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards. In addition, you will perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews. The best Blue Origin designers are versatile and skilled with experience using Creo’s supplemental extensions, such as AFX and ProPiping as well as proficient in manipulating associated Windchill product structures and change notices. Requirements

  • Extensive experience with ProEngineer /Creo with Windchill and ProPiping
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3
  • Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings using ProE/Creo
  • Knowledge of standard components, installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding, etc)
  • Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc)
  • Experience in the drawing generation, checking, and release processes
  • Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41
  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings
  • Work autonomously in a dynamic and fast paced work environment

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years proven experience
  • Experience with Autocad or Autocad P&ID, Bentley AutoPipe
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance preferred
  • Knowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels and passivation of stainless steel
