About The Position

SUMMARY: Responsible for the purchase, of assigned commodities in a timely manner while meeting the needs of the customer within the requirements of Riverside Medical Clinic.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processing and a minimum three (3) years purchasing experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and administer vendor contracts with the approval of Purchasing Manager and/ or Supervisor.
  • Evaluate products and services received. Contact vendors to correct deficiencies.
  • Establish an ongoing cost containment program within your commodity.
  • Participate in periodic inventories as requested.
  • Generate appropriate reports as requested.
  • Participate in budget development as requested by Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working with all departments within Riverside Medical Clinic.
  • Display a professional attitude through performance, appearance, and demeanor.
  • Maintain open communications with department personnel to keep informed of their needs and desires. Continually review purchase items considering quality, utility and cost.
  • Assure the adequate quantities of standard stock items, within your commodity, are kept on hand to support daily clinic operations.
  • Maintain adequate sources for non-stock items to assure their availability within a reasonable time frame.
  • Place purchase orders utilizing the electronic purchasing system for stock replenishment in a time frame designed to prevent stock outs and minimize inventory levels
  • Receive and process departmental stock requisitions utilizing the electronic purchasing system. Develop and monitor reasonable delivery of non-stock items with the vendors involved.
  • Assure that departmental billing information is entered correctly into the electronic purchasing system. Determine special departmental requirements and stock sufficient back up units to meet such needs.
  • Maintain Purchasing records and related databases.
  • Make recommendations for, and assists with implementation of procedural changes.
  • Processes Special Project as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. Lead subordinate personnel. Evaluate vendor performance, makes recommendation to Supervisor/ Manager
  • Develops new sources of supply.
