About The Position

As an Economics Business Value Specialist within AWS, you will play a pivotal role in helping AWS Industries customers shape their strategies and IT financial models. Your primary focus will be on quantifying both the cost and value benefits of running applications in the cloud. This involves engaging directly with C-level executives, IT professionals, and influencers at all levels to assess the comparative costs and Return on Investment (ROI) of migrating and running applications on AWS. You will simplify complex IT infrastructure and virtualization scenarios into essential components, crafting models and financial assessments that are easy to understand and apply. In this role, you will collaborate with AWS sales teams to engage prospective customers, sharing best practices and finance strategies while building board-ready migration business cases. You will identify economic barriers to the adoption of AWS and develop repeatable strategies to overcome these barriers. Your responsibilities will include driving ROI and economic-related business development activities within AWS, supporting the AWS Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and product teams on customer engagements related to ROI and economics. You will serve as an expert resource on the financial modeling of IT applications and infrastructures, quantifying value benefits, and communicating the economic value proposition for AWS to a broad audience of Finance, Business, and IT leaders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business and IT background, enabling them to drive engagements and interact at the highest levels of both startups and large enterprises. You will need to have the technical depth and business experience to effectively communicate the economic benefits of computing to IT architects, engineering teams, and C-Level executives. A demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of complex global businesses is essential. Familiarity with complex legacy IT environments, data center economics, and the ability to create detailed cost models for these environments is crucial. Additionally, you should have experience influencing decision-makers through a consultative selling approach, ideally through previous consulting, sales, or similar customer experience.
