About The Position

Berkley Technology Services (BTS) is seeking a Sr. Business Systems Analyst to provide support for one or more applications to various member companies of the W. R. Berkley Corporation. This role involves developing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions for customers. The analyst will coordinate major software release schedules and approval processes, develop ad-hoc scripts (complex SQL) for reporting, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a knowledge base of known issues and solutions. The position requires strong management and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines. The analyst will also serve as an escalation point for production support and configuration issues, coordinate system and process changes, and assist in writing requirements for customer solutions. In the development role, the analyst will create detailed technical specifications, act consultatively to resolve business challenges, and define complex XML schemas for web services. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build customer relationships, as well as the capability to mentor junior team members and coordinate work within the team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years related industry experience.
  • Demonstrated capability of meeting key accountabilities or ability to learn/perform them.
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Basic knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in a consultative role to provide resolutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to act as a mentor to junior team members.
  • Experience in coordinating work within a team or acting as a scrum lead.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for one or more applications to various member companies.

  • Develop and execute SQL commands for data model changes and data analysis.
  • Create documentation and training materials, and provide end-user training.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources to develop recommendations.
  • Communicate release changes and develop risk plans for release schedules.
