The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will be providing support of one or more applications to various member companies of the corporation and will involve developing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions for customers. Support Role May coordinates major software release schedule and approval process with Release Management, development staff, Business System Analysts, and customers. Develop ad-hoc scripts (complex SQL) to create reports and troubleshoot/resolve issues. Ability to troubleshoot issues in response to user inquiries. Maintain a knowledge base of known issues/solutions and provide potential workarounds to customers. Requires strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Serves as escalation point to research and resolve production support and configuration issues which cannot be resolved by initial triage group(s). Coordinate system, data and/or process changes with downstream system application teams upon implementation of new features. May assist in writing requirements to help provide solutions for our customers. Development Role May coordinate major software release schedule and approval process with the engineering staff and as needed other BTS staff Create detailed technical specifications which may cross systems. Acts on a consultative role to provide resolutions to new business challenges or existing complex problems. Working across teams - coordinate system, data and/or process design changes and planned. changes with downstream system application teams. Insure all components have been identified and coordinate the changes across BTS. May define Complex XML schemas for web services and associated mappings. Develops and executes SQL commands to accomplish data model changes and is involved in data modeling. May also include report generation and data analysis. Requires strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Serves as escalation point within the development process to research and resolve development questions and/or conflicting requirements. Shared Between the 2 Roles Outlined Above: Knowledgeable on a multiple set of components within an application or multiple applications. Individuals in this role are considered application subject matter experts and will need to answer “how to” questions in reference to the specific application or suite of application/services/xml definitions that provide a business solution. Strong customer relationships and good understanding of how the corporation/company operate. Ability to effectively communicate with senior management roles within BTS and our companies. Has deep understanding of upstream/downstream impact of system changes. Able to make multiple recommendations on how to improve the business processes/workflow. Ability to act as a mentor to more junior members of a team May coordinate work within the team and/or act as a scrum lead. Recreate issues and document requirements for bug fixes and/or system enhancements. May be sole point of contact for a given team in regards to BTS projects Create documentation and training materials, Provide end-user training to internal and external customers. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to develop logical recommendations. Communicates release changes and develops risk plans for release schedules. May provide rotating on-call support of production systems. Travel may be up to 15%. Items from the 2 roles outlined could overlap depending on the individual
