About The Position
SEMCO Energy is seeking a Senior Business Process Analyst to document, analyze, and improve core customer and billing processes. This role is ideal for a curious, analytical self-starter who enjoys understanding how work gets done and turning complexity into clear, scalable processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, operations, billing, or customer systems
- Experience with enterprise financial or billing systems (SAP IS-Utilities, MV90, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Lean Six Sigma and/or CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent business analysis certification
- Ability to travel to our Springfield, VA office (approx. once per 2-3 months)
Responsibilities
- Document and improve business processes across billing, meter reading, payments, call center, and customer operations
- Identify gaps and design improved workflows that support efficiency and customer experience
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand processes and recommend improvements
- Use customer and billing data from CIS systems to support analysis and decision-making
- Maintain clear, up-to-date process documentation to support continuity and compliance
- Collaborate with SEMCO Energy and Washington Gas teams to identify shared opportunities
