About The Position

Amazon Device Ops & Supply Chain Business is seeking a Sr. Reverse Logistics Business Manager who will be the strategic relationship owner for the Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics Services suppliers that provide screening and repair, test engineering design and development and planning and procurement services in the Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics space. This requires that the Sr. RL Business manager be both an advocate for the supplier within Lab126 and be their harshest critic to ensure the best possible performance. Upon success, the RL Business Manager will instill a forward-thinking collaborative and mutually-beneficial long-term vested relationship with a holistic point of view, not just a product or single supplier perspective – a business owner. These high profile responsibilities require significant breadth and business acumen as the responsibilities are very diverse and impactful: - Technical - Solid understanding of the third party supplier outsourcing strategy, landscape and capabilities, manufacturing models and consumer electronics product lifecycles. Drive supplier relationships to ensure services are integrated in a way that supports our brand. - Negotiation Skills – Able to support Reverse Logistics strategy, contract pricing, terms and conditions with internal business teams. Exercise good judgement in knowing when and how best to address issues or drive change. - Financial – Responsible for managing the strategic business relationship including understanding contracts, pricing, terms and conditions and claims. - Relationship Builder – Must have the ability to engage, influence and arbitrate both the supplier and the Lab126 stakeholder organizations at the operational and Sr. Executive levels. The circumstances can be challenging with limited time. Must build strong business cases and have a strong executive presence. About the team The Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics team spans the globe from China, UK, EU, and the US (Kentucky, New Jersey, Virginia, Sunnyvale and Seattle). The team leadership is composed of long term Amazonians with deep knowledge and experience in the consumer electronics returns space and a passion for Amazon's peculiar ways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of work in business procurement organizations of a consumer market segment company experience
  • Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
  • Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
  • Experience leading and defining requirements and driving these across diverse organizations
  • Must be able to travel globally up to 30% per year

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
  • Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
  • Experience working in business procurement organizations of a consumer market segment company

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sourcing and selection of one or more Reverse Logistics suppliers in alignment with the overarching Reverse Logistics strategy and within the Return Services structure. Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in Engineering Services, Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Business Management, Contract management and adherence, delivery, cost and social responsibility.
  • Actively engage the Reverse Logistics Operations, Engineering, Materials and Planning organizations with the Reverse Logistics suppliers on one or more services or product lines to achieve the strategic objectives.
  • Lead the global and regional strategy for Reverse Logistics and strategic business reviews with Reverse Logistics suppliers.

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
