AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Position Overview We are seeking a Sr. Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives within U.S. Government programs for AST SpaceMobile. This role focuses on identifying, pursuing, and securing opportunities that align with our mission to deliver space-based connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in government contracting and a proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to lead strategic initiatives and drive growth across key markets and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders and decision-makers, including end-users throughout USG organizations and other DoW agencies.
  • Identify emerging requirements and position AST SpaceMobile solutions to meet mission needs.
  • Assist in proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure solutions align with customer requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and policy changes impacting space and communications sectors.
  • Manage relationships with FFRDCs and other strategic partners.
  • A minimum of 10–15 years in business development or program capture within aerospace, satellite, or communications industry
  • Must have experience working with U.S. Government and/or associated FFRDCs.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Understanding of proposal management software and government portals (e.g., SAM.gov).
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline; candidates with engineering, physics, or similar technical backgrounds are strongly preferred.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance (required; TS/SCI (active BI) preferred).
  • Proven track record of supporting U.S. Government contracts and understanding complex programs.
  • Background working with satellite/space communications technology
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and government procurement cycles.
  • Experience engaging with DoW organizations.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and industry events.
