Team and Role Description : The Architecture, Research & Development (ARD) team ensures efficient, effective, secure and resilient solutions for the Enterprise through collaboration and governance and unlocks future potential Disney magic through research and development. The Sr Business Architect - Open Source & EA Governance directly supports ARD’s core capabilities by documenting and managing the review process for standards, patterns, reference models, and roadmaps used across the enterprise. Additionally, this role manages the program that governs the use of Open Source across the Walt Disney Company by coordinating the Open-Source review and approval process, organizing and facilitating Open-Source Committee and Governance Board meetings, and liaising with representatives from across the segments to align on Open-Source processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience developing content for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in managing programs like OSS
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Broad knowledge of computer and application processes
  • Understanding of Open Source and data governance concepts
  • Data and metrics analytics
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Experience using: MS Products, including SharePoint Jira, MS Planner ServiceNow Power BI Miro and Airtable

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using content management systems (i.e., GitLab pages, Confluence, WordPress)

Responsibilities

  • Document and publish Standards, Guidelines, Best Practices, Technical Reference Modeling, and Roadmap diagrams for use across Enterprise Technology and the Walt Disney Company
  • Manage EA Governance plan and coordination of activities across teams
  • Manage the intake, tracking, reporting, and execution of processes and services performed by the Open Source Committee
  • Proactively identify risks, trends and process improvements
  • Guide engineers as they engage with the OSC’s services, and learn from their experiences to help improve our services
  • Perform data collection, analysis, and presentations
  • Support data governance efforts
  • Identify and create automation opportunities
