The Senior Business Analyst serves as a critical link between the IT Applications Optimization team and business stakeholders, focusing on identifying and leading opportunities to maximize the value of Epic's features and functionality. This role emphasizes evaluating system capabilities, driving stakeholder education, and guiding the organization in leveraging Epic to achieve strategic goals, such as improving efficiency, streamlining workflows, and enhancing the user experience. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with product, clinical, and operational teams to assess existing workflows, uncover high-impact opportunities for improvement, and develop comprehensive recommendations using Epic's tools and capabilities. They will take a proactive role in identifying gaps, addressing complex issues, and leading initiatives to promote the adoption of underutilized Epic features that align with organizational objectives. This includes the ability to extrapolate features into broader product strategies, create meaningful metrics to measure success, and engage in strategic planning to ensure long-term value realization. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will serve as a resource and mentor to junior team members, providing guidance and sharing best practices to support the overall success of the team. This is a Full Time, remote, Business Analyst role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience of 5 years or more in a related field will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Requires minimum of four (4) years of experience in healthcare, product development, research, data science, reporting and analytics, or economics.
  • Requires minimum of two (2) years of experience working in or with a relevant EMR or business application
  • Requires demonstrable experience in independent problem solving and creative thinking with ability to effectively weigh business, industry, and organization knowledge leveraging independent communication and interaction skills
  • Experience or familiarity with Epic workflows, functionality, or operations in a clinical or administrative capacity is preferred

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

  • Must be able to effectively use office productivity tools, business analysis tools, and communication tools. This includes but is not limited to the following toolsets: MS Office Suite, ServiceNow; MS Project; Video conferencing tools (Zoom, etc.); Collaboration Tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Continuously seeks opportunities for improvement and embraces challenges. Adapts to evolving priorities with a focus on long-term success, strategic planning, and delivering high-quality results.
  • Technical background or degree program, project management experience, and familiarity with structured methodologies are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze current workflows to identify optimization opportunities and recommend Epic solutions for improved outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess needs and challenges, proposing data-informed solutions leveraging Epic functionality, while leading key initiatives to drive measurable results and program success
  • Monitor Epic usage, adoption trends, and upcoming features to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and additional training needs, using insights to guide process improvement strategies and inform long-term planning
  • Create materials and facilitate discussions to educate stakeholders on Epic functionality, upgrades, best practices, etc., while contributing to the development of organizational standards and best practices for optimization initiatives
  • Synthesize complex features or problems and independently develop detailed business cases, outlining key information including business problem, goals and objectives, initiative approach, enterprise value, scope, assumptions, risks, and dependencies
  • Complete assigned feature assessments, demonstrating ownership of deliverables and accountability for outcomes
  • Lead backlog grooming activities, prioritizing tasks in alignment with strategic objectives and promoting efficiency in execution
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior team members, providing leadership, coaching, and guidance to support their professional growth and ensure team success
  • Demonstrate strong professional written and verbal communication skills when interacting with customers (internal and external) and on behalf of Premise Health
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team and broader organization
