Purpose Manages building envelope projects from initiation through completion, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, budget performance, and client satisfaction. This role applies professional judgment and technical expertise in building envelope systems—including roofing, waterproofing, façades, cladding, glazing, and exterior wall assemblies—to support assessments, design, repair, restoration, and construction administration services. Serves as the primary point of contact for clients while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and consultants. Exercises strong sales and business development capabilities to grow client relationships and generate new work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science.
  • Registered Professional in field of expertise strongly preferred.
  • Ten or more (10+) years of experience in commissioning engineering experience to include a minimum of three (3) years’ assistant project management experience.
  • Building envelope engineering experience and skills, including residential and commercial developments.
  • Thorough understanding of municipal codes and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects).
  • Experience with Storm Drain Modeling and Rational Method Hydrologic Calculations.
  • Experience with Open Channel & Detention Basin Modeling and Design.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS modeling and CLOMR/LOMR applications and processing.
  • Experience researching zoning, development standards, development review processes, compliance matters, regulations and standards.
  • Ability to write reports, prepare narratives, development applications, submittal documents and response letters.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Architect is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives general guidance relating to overall project objectives, critical issues, and client expectations.
  • Independently applies diversified knowledge of building envelope principles, materials, and construction practices to assigned projects.
  • Serves as Project Manager and primary client liaison on building envelope engagements.
  • Coordinates and directs internal staff, subconsultants, and contractors to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Reviews work products prepared by project team members for technical accuracy, quality, and consistency with project requirements.
  • Promotes collaboration, accountability, and clear communication among project stakeholders.
  • Manages project scope, schedule, staffing plans, and budgets to ensure successful delivery and financial performance.
  • Drives business development initiatives for building envelope services, including identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, and expanding existing accounts.
  • Prepares and manages project work plans, schedules, and fee tracking in coordination with project controls and accounting.
  • Maintains and grows client relationships through responsive service, technical excellence, and proactive communication.
  • Ensures compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and risk management procedures.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines and service areas to support integrated service delivery.
  • Manage and execute building envelope projects, including:
  • LEED Enhanced Commissioning
  • Condition assessments and forensic investigations
  • Design and detailing of repairs, restorations, and replacements
  • Construction administration and field observations
  • Perform or oversee site investigations, documentation, and evaluations of building envelope systems such as roofing, waterproofing, façades, cladding, glazing, sealants, and air/moisture barriers.
  • Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and contractor change requests related to building envelope scope.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost opinions, and client-facing deliverables.
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Monitor construction progress and quality, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Support risk assessments and ensure project documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Perform other duties as required.
