We are currently seeking an experienced Sr. Bridge Engineer II to join our Columbus or Akron, OH offices. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule while giving you the opportunity to lead the planning, analysis, and design of ODOT bridge projects, as well as other highway, rail, and waterway structures. From conventional precast girders to innovative bridge types, you’ll apply your technical expertise to deliver complex projects that shape critical infrastructure.

  • Perform structural load calculations and bridge plan/specifications development.
  • Perform and/or oversee geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Check design calculations/construction cost estimates/plan development produced by other engineers.
  • Typical bridge projects include precast concrete girder (pre-stressed and/or post-tensioned) and steel plate or steel box girder for highway, waterway, and rail projects.
  • Strong technical skills in engineering analysis and design combined with a proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects.
  • Perform as a Technical Specialist or Task Leader on large projects and supervise Junior Engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
  • Report preparation and frequent client interaction.
  • BSCE required.
  • Active Ohio PE licensure required.
  • 5+ years of experience required in Bridge Design.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of bridge design projects.
  • Computer program proficiency: Microsoft Office, Structural analysis software (LARSA, SAP etc.), Structural design software (LEAP products BDS products PCA Col etc.).
  • Knowledge of ORD is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with various teams – internal and external - as required.
  • ODOT project experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior Supervisory experience (team, office, etc.) a plus.
