Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, STEM AA degree or technical school preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a high voltage Battery Prototype or Test Technician
  • Experience working with dynamics equipment and software e.g., shaker table and Crystal Instruments is a plus
  • Working knowledge of battery test equipment and software e.g., test cycler, isolation meter, Enerchron, CANalyzer
  • Thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
  • Be flexible and willing to zoom out and perform different job functions
  • Ability to work independently as needed
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas and concerns clearly and concisely; high energy and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated passion and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Physical qualifications: able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, fabrication, and set-up of complex HV battery and mechanical test devices with minimal direction from engineering or supervisor
  • Demonstrate safety-first principles and deliver exceptional quality of work
  • Independently analyze existing test setups and procedures, and develop innovative cost and efficiency solutions
  • Review and interpret engineering schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Debug HV electrical and/or mechanical test issues and identify quality improvement opportunities
  • Perform post-test inspections and data review as requested by project stakeholders, and ensure the work product meets the test objective/needs
  • Communicate cross functionally any test deviations and resolve any concerns with active testing
  • Safe and proper use of mechanical and inspection tools such as drills, saws, torque drivers, electrical DVOMs as required
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and clean workspace is mandatory
  • Availability for up to 20% travel
