Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience deploying and managing cloud data platforms on AWS.
• Extensive expertise in cloud-based data storage and processing on AWS, with deep experience in AWS S3, RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and MSSQL.
• Strong skills in implementing data pipelines for efficient deployment and automation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in scripting using Python, PySpark, Scala, and advanced SQL techniques.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and distributed computing with AWS tools like Glue, and EMR.
• Experience in data engineering, data governance, and modern data warehouse/Lakehouse architecture.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Agile development experience; proficiency with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• AWS professional certificate(s).

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant data operations with structured and unstructured data.
• Develop, build and maintain AWS data platform services such as S3, RDS, Aurora, Redshift, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB using cloud deployment pipeline.
• Develop, maintain and optimize robust data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership to data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Promote best practices in data engineering by mentoring internal teams on database standards, pipeline development, and efficient data usage.
• Partner with senior technical leads, analysts, engineers, and scientists to implement scalable data initiatives using AWS cloud services.
• Implement advanced data architectures for accelerated solution design, including data integration, modeling, governance, and applications.
• Collaborate with domain teams to design physical data models and data mappings.
• Implement and manage database security, including user access controls and data encryption.
• Ensure the protection of healthcare data by maintaining compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP, and StateRAMP security standards.
