This individual will plan, design, protype, and assemble custom automated equipment solutions for manufacturing processes. The applicant must be capable of analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force to maximize efficiency; and improving production design for manufacturability. The applicant must research and drive procurement and implementation of components and solutions which may be purchased or developed by external suppliers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Primary responsibility will be to lead projects in the development and implementation of automation in mechanical and electronics assembly, machining, and inspection processes. This will include design, specification, directing and managing vendors, installation, and qualification of automated Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes. Manage equipment purchase, installation, programming, and maintenance. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment. Prepare manufacturing documentation. Work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support. Develop systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one-piece flow and Kanban, with emphasis on mistake proofing. Lead and direct meetings with other team members and hourly associates Manage tooling and gauge design and drawings. Provide training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new automated equipment systems and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned.
