As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced automation systems for Tesla’s service distribution centers. You will drive high-impact projects involving robotics and material handling systems to enhance operational efficiency. Expect to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage projects from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly support Tesla’s goal of delivering innovative electric vehicles and energy products worldwide. Design automation systems for greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit projects to improve operational efficiency Manage large-scale automation projects to meet performance and cost objectives Act as technical liaison with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to align on project requirements Develop and execute acceptance test plans to validate automation systems Oversee installation and commissioning of automation projects with Facilities and operations teams Integrate Warehouse Execution Systems with Warehouse Management Systems using APIs Apply safety-by-design principles to automation solutions Optimize system architecture and processes using statistical analysis and Lean Principles Utilize CAD software and simulation tools like FlexSim for system design Travel globally up to 30% to support project deployments and vendor collaborations
