About The Position

Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries. Ensures their effective operation in accordance with federal, state and local laws. Essential Functions Provide legal counsel, advice, review and direction to various departments and members of management on all levels. Ensure company compliance with all applicable federal, state & local commercial regulations & ensure that all legal obligations of the company are properly recognized & carried out. Stay abreast of existing & new regulations & review, analyze & provide comments to notices of proposed rulemakings. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an Accredited Bar Association (ABA).
  • Accredited law school and admission to the bar.
  • Superior academic record.
  • Six (6) years of experience and demonstrated competence as a practicing attorney in a relevant area of law.
  • Ability to determine appropriateness of settlement or litigation.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation, human relations and communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to draft, negotiate and close a commercial transaction, including technology matters, consulting services, asset purchases and procurement of goods and services.
  • Must be able to handle all aspects of transactions and be a legal and business advisor on compliance with laws and regulations, corporate polices, and levels of legal and financial risk.
  • Excellent digital proficiency, interpersonal communication, and legal writing skills required.
  • Collaborate with FedEx and outside counsel attorneys
