About The Position

NextEra Energy Inc. is seeking a business-savvy trial attorney to join a team of litigators supporting litigation matters involving renewable energy projects across 30+ states and Canada. This role requires experience with e-discovery, depositions, and briefings. Reporting to the VP and Chief Litigation Counsel, the attorney will be on the front lines of all litigation matters, including class actions, contractual disputes, commercial issues, personal injury, property damage, regulatory, and zoning. This position offers an opportunity to provide expertise in driving creative, business-enabling, customer-focused, practical, and proactive legal guidance. Requirements

• Member in Good Standing of State Bar
• High School Grad / GED
• Juris Doctorate
• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years practicing law
• Experience with e-discovery, depositions, and briefings

Nice To Haves

• J.D. from an accredited, top-tier law school
• Preferably with a top law firm or in in-house roles of increasing responsibility
• Judicial clerkship preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
• Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
• Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
• Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
