About The Position

The Sr. Associate, Systems Engineer (SE) performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and/or subsystems. The System Engineer is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework and/or experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, systems analysis and design, system performance modeling, integration and/or project management, and/or model-based systems engineering.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Ability to successfully pass an FAA Class 3 Flight Physical and Altitude chamber to support test flights.
  • Military EO/IR, Radar, RF, ECM, IRCM and/or Aircraft Self Protection Maintenance experience.
  • Experienced using commands and operating in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with creating and training entries into DOORS and/or Jira.

Responsibilities

  • Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
  • Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
  • Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
  • Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
  • Perform requirement traceability.
  • Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
  • Identify and solve problems using logical engineering thought processes.
  • Work with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
  • Engage in engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft.
  • Hands-on with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware.
  • Support aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test.
  • Conduct verification testing.
  • Develop, author, and implement system test plans.
