As a Sr. Associate, Quality Control Labs supporting Alcon’s Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, you will be trusted to manage the batch release process to ensure quality standards and product specifications are met. In this role, a typical day will include: Use of various measuring devices (CMM, OGPs and hand tools), testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products using component drawings and diagrams. Must be knowledgeable in statistics to perform Design of Experiments (DoE) and Gage Reproducibility and Reliability (GR&R) using Minitab. Create fixtures using CAD software (Solidworks) and 3D printing to support dimensional inspection of components. Identify ongoing quality issues, prevents potential production issues, make suggestions for improvement, and update SOPs as needed. Work with InfinityQS (Statistical Process Control software) to collect inspection data of components and provide results to multiple departments across the plant. Experience with statistical process control. Experience in creating and maintaining KPIs for Metrology operations. Must have working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc.+6 yrs.; M.S.+0 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Metrology Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in GD&T.
  • Experience creating metrology programs using Automated Metrology equipment with touch probes and optics to support the validation of Molding tools. Inspection software includes Calypso, PC-DMIS, and Zone3.
  • Experience leading and training metrology technicians.
  • Metrology experience in the medical device industry.
  • Medical device validation experience (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • CAD experience.
  • Experience in statistics including Process Capability, Control Charts, DoEs and Gage R&Rs.
  • Ability to discuss and understand highly technical specifications to audiences that may not always understand the specifications.
  • Continuous improvement and Quality mindset.
