As a Sr. Associate, Mechanical Engineer supporting a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Sr. Associate, Mechanical Design Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for contributing to the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems. You will create CAD models, conduct simulations, and evaluate prototypes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability standards. This role in on-site in our Johns Creek, GA location and a typical day would include:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+5yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on CNC- Ultra-precision optical fabrication (symmetrical and non-symmetrical) by turning and/or grinding.
  • Knowledge of a variety of metrology instruments including CMM scanning devices. Optical metrology knowledge including interferometry and aspheric surface characterization is a plus.
  • CAD: SolidWorks and/or Pro/Engineer
  • Familiar with statistical analyses techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Creo Experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to operate and program a variety of machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinder, EDM etc.
  • Provides direct support to Vision Care contact lens development programs by fabricating necessary fixtures/devices and prepare components needed for optical tools needed for all development projects.
  • Responsible with maintaining and improving fabrication processes for ultra-precision CNC machining directly supporting Vision Care development programs
  • Assist with mechanical design and CAD modelling support for various teams within Vision Care development
  • Works closely with lead engineers for developing, implementing and resolving general machining and optical fabrication processing problems
  • Responsible for coordinating, maintaining and improving flow of existing tooling processes.
  • Works closely with Lens Metrology group to ensure design targets are met.
