About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Operations team at a high-growth pre-IPO startup. As a key member of a small team supporting over 2,200 colleagues, you will partner cross-functionally as a trusted advisor to various leaders and teams across Verkada to drive business insights, decision-making rigor, and operational excellence, helping us reach the next level of scale and operating sophistication in the process. The role will own Verkada’s Gross Margins which includes in-depth project leadership and on both Revenue and Cost of Goods Sold. Gross Margins is one of the most critical KPIs for our business, with high visibility with the CFO, and you will drive across the entire company to make sure we hit our goals. This role is in person based in San Mateo, California.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of top tier professional experience. You’re coming to us with a management consulting, strategic finance, investment banking, business operations, FP&A, or another highly analytical background.
  • High analytical horsepower paired with strong cross-functional project leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and strong business instincts.
  • A problem solver that is comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills.
  • Strong academic background – strong undergraduate performance with MBA preferred but not required
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, California.

Responsibilities

  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis for Verkada’s Gross Margins, helping us improve our overall financial discipline and predictability
  • Be the primary Finance business partner and cross-functional leader with several of our senior leaders in Product, Hardware Engineering, Sales, Deal Desk and Supply Chain
  • Identify opportunities to optimize resource allocation and operating efficiency, and work cross-functionally to tackle critical change projects to realize these opportunities
  • Help us operate the business at the next level of scale through better tooling, self-serve automation, and internal processes
  • Provide ad-hoc support on key Finance Operations initiatives around Inventory, Expenses, payables, and receivables.
