The Contingent Workforce Program Manager will play a critical leadership role in shaping and managing New York Life's contingent workforce strategy. This senior position is responsible for overseeing policies, systems, and vendor relationships that enable an efficient, compliant, and innovative contingent workforce program. This individual must be a self-starter with strong ownership skills-capable of operating with minimal guidance-while proactively driving improvements and building scalable solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent judgment, and has the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. The Program Manager will partner closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, IT, Legal, and business leaders across the enterprise to continuously enhance program effectiveness and deliver measurable value.   • Serve as operational lead for day-to-day management of our Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Vendor Management System (VMS), ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, innovation, and streamlined processes.
  • Manage relationships with high-volume stakeholder groups, ensuring their unique needs are met through proactive engagement, tailored support, and alignment with overall program goals.
  • Own vendor performance management, including scorecards, business reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Leverage workforce data, reporting, and KPIs to identify trends, proactively recommend improvements, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Reevaluate and optimize processes related to approvals, VMS configurations, suppliers, and governance with a focus on automation and simplification.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex contingent workforce situations, providing expert guidance and resolution.
  • Develop and refine processes to meet the diverse needs of contingent worker engagements while ensuring compliance and proper worker classification.
  • Drive change management efforts through training, education, and stakeholder engagement to increase program adoption and policy awareness.
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on contingent labor strategy and outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends, applying them to continuously improve program design and execution.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; CCWP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in contingent workforce, procurement, HR, or vendor management, with proven ability to lead programs of enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results with limited oversight.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with PowerPoint for executive-level presentations.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fieldglass or similar VMS platforms strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to balance compliance, business needs, and user experience.
