About The Position

An Assistant Manager supports the Branch Manager with daily branch operations focusing on customer service and staff guidance and supervision. The AM performs duties such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts, opening retirement accounts and assisting customers with inquiries concerning products offered. The AM must be continuously aware of fraud, loss prevention, and check cashing guidelines as well as all Reg E and KYC requirements. The AM should be familiar with Compliance and BSA policies when onboarding and servicing customers.

Requirements

  • Effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to other people talk without interruptions, understand them and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made.
  • Strong communication skills characterized by excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • He/she must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and be able to function under pressure.
  • He/she must also have excellent negotiation skills and be able to influence people.
  • Ability to use the computer efficiently and learn how to use new software.
  • Must be patient and willing to help others in solving problems while always maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and follow instructions to the letter.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in branch operations

Responsibilities

  • Always provide excellent customer services to customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Open new business and personal accounts, including checking, savings, certificate of deposit, and all other accounts and services offered by the bank.
  • Supervise teller balancing procedures; assist tellers with problems and questions on procedures.
  • Order and issue teller cash as needed, balance the vault
  • Act as Branch Manager in their absence
  • possess sufficient knowledge about banking products and services and respond to all inquiries accordingly.
  • Improve customers’ banking experience with the bank by ensuring that the customers are attended to promptly and all their challenges are resolved without delay.
  • Ensure that all the bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with.
  • Provide information to customers on their account status and account balances.
  • Suggest effective ways through which the bank can promote its products and services and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Assist other members of staff in other departments of the bank by liaising with them through healthy interactions.
  • Perform maintenance on Dormant accounts as per Branch procedures.
  • Ensure that customers’ confidential information is properly protected and only used for bank related purposes.
  • Fulfill other periodic job-related duties which are assigned by management and not already part of this job description.
  • Comply with all bank policies, regulations and laws applicable to carrying out duties and responsibilities.
