About The Position

L3Harris is looking for a Procurement Sr. Specialist to join our team at our Jefferson Road Operations Center. In this role you will plan and implement activities related to the procurement of materials, goods and services in compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will start as Buyer role to learn L3Harris systems and processes before potentially transitioning into a management role with a team of around five direct reports. Additional duties include but are not limited to: Analyze and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to understand the procurement and manufacturing requirements. Send RFQs to obtain quotes, examine bids, and make awards. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and/or services. Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers. Source and purchase direct materials necessary for operation of the organization. Ensure supplier compliance via an internet supplier portal (eXpo PO tracking) and responsible for item part data attribute accuracy. Participate and contribute to departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives. Sustain success metrics (Delivery, Cost, Lead Time, Inventory, etc), incorporating best practices, and effectively communicating improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience purchasing parts and/or services in a medium to high volume environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Government and Commercial Contracting/Subcontracting managing supplier performance in the areas of technical scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Engineering or Technical Background.
  • Experience engaging with suppliers and analyzing suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • MRP Experience, Agile configuration.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Cost analysis and negotiation experience.
  • Experience and understanding of product specifications, statements of work (SOW), and terms and conditions.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot tables, macros, etc.
  • Global sourcing experience.
