About The Position

The Application Engineer is responsible for assisting customers and representatives in applying and selling product lines. Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by filtering and/or responding to all customer and representatives inquiries, creating quotes, managing and coordinating customer’s quotes and orders, supporting customer meetings to discuss, refine and ultimately sell the proposed products, and offering other product enhancements or alternatives that would make the overall sale feasible for the Company. You will also support customer meetings to negotiate contract price and terms and conditions of sale, formulate and create descriptive line item quotations based on standard unit costs, and meet with engineering management to establish one-time-engineering design hour estimates to meet the requirements of the proposal. Additionally, you will create schedule estimates and final revised detailed quotations once internal and external negotiations are completed, define all of the product detailed specifications once an order is imminent, and meet with the engineering project group to transfer the project once a sale is complete to ensure specifications and timelines are well communicated. You will also facilitate, manage or drive special production orders to completion with the appropriate internal departments.
