About The Position

The powertrain architecture and modeling team develops a parametric vehicle model that is utilized for vehicle architecture design, performance evaluation, and decision-making. As a Vehicle Modeling Software Engineer, you will focus on enhancing the software infrastructure that supports our vehicle modeling efforts. This role involves improving reliability and efficiency of modeling infrastructure, implementing automation of modeling workflows, and data management. Your work will be highly collaborative, working closely with vehicle modelers and other cross-functional teams such as IT, vehicle firmware, fleet analytics, and design automation software teams. Infrastructure Reliability: Implement repository functions to ensure maximum reliability of the model “development” branch. Address and mitigate bad habits or practices by vehicle modelers that inadvertently break the model, reducing debugging time and improving workflow efficiency. Bring industry best practices such as unit tests, metrics tracking, error handling, etc. Automation: Collaborate with vehicle modelers to create automation framework, job management, and functions for repetitive tasks. Full utilization of continuous integration systems to improve speed of daily operations. Integration of enterprise AI tools Model I/O: Make significant improvements to the speed and ease of use of model inputs from other teams. Focus on streamlining processes like component data inputs and traceability of model assumptions. Build infrastructure for ease of model output sharing with other teams Building Database: Lead team efforts to design and build large-scale databases to support a variety of use cases. Collaborate with other teams to ensure a unified and scalable approach to data management Next Gen Vehicle Model: Lead the design and architecture implementation of a world-class next gen integrated vehicle model
