About The Position

The Sr Architect SAP Finance will be responsible for executing activities in all aspects of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Sr Architect SAP Finance will work on new projects as well as supporting existing applications and be expected to communicate status to stakeholders. The Sr Architect SAP Finance is expected to influence, persuade, and lead other team members and stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives. This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP Finance, including ECC and S/4HANA (RISE).
  • Strong understanding of core finance processes and SAP FI modules.
  • Experience in Integrations with Coupa and Hyperion.
  • Experience working in high-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with Finance and Accounting teams.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with supporting different types of implementations including: enhancement/support projects, new development projects and third party package software.
  • Must have strong PC skills and working knowledge with Microsoft Office products, SharePoint and tracking software.
  • Must have strong communication skills, facilitates meetings and work with external consulting companies.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to team members.
  • Must be experienced in Best Business Practices.
  • Liaison with Business Partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience SAP ECC to S4 Migration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Functional Business Analysts to elicit and define business and system requirements related to SAP Finance.
  • Elicit detailed requirements in the form of user stories with clear acceptance criteria, focusing on SAP ECC and S/4HANA (RISE) platforms.
  • Capture non-functional system requirements such as performance expectations, compliance, and security standards.
  • Produce deliverables including functional specifications, process flow diagrams, configuration documents, and user stories.
  • Coordinate with QA and development teams to ensure requirements are well understood and implemented accurately.
  • Participate in solution demos and review developed functionalities for alignment with business needs.
  • Support testing and validation of SAP Finance system enhancements and fixes, including test case creation and review.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure business sign-off on delivered solutions.
  • Plan, design, and implement SAP Finance solutions, including configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Work with end users to understand current finance operations and identify opportunities for system improvements.
  • Provide functional and technical support for SAP ECC and S/4HANA Finance modules (FI, CO, AA, AP, AR, GL, Banking).
  • Log and track defects and enhancement requests, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Analyze and triage system issues, collaborating with BA, QA, and development teams to resolve them efficiently.
  • Support ongoing activities such as data archival, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP Finance configurations and system capabilities.
  • Ensure SAP Finance solutions meet business requirements and are free from critical defects.
  • Create and maintain testing deliverables based on functional and technical specifications.
  • Conduct integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for finance-related functionalities.
  • Analyze test results and report defects, configuration issues, or performance gaps.
  • Communicate testing progress and results to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote quality assurance best practices.
  • Provide input into system design and specifications, ensuring alignment with finance operations.
  • Develop deep expertise in SAP Finance applications and analyze integration impacts across modules.
  • Collaborate with developers to balance usability and performance in solution design.
  • Demonstrate professional discretion and judgment in achieving goals and guiding day-to-day activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead implementation efforts.
  • Estimate effort levels, develop work plans, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor in SAP Finance matters.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
