About The Position

Cummins-Wagner Company, Inc. aims to remain the premier manufacturer's representative and distributor of mechanical equipment and machinery within our trading area. We serve the industrial, process, heating, and cooling markets. The Senior Applications Engineer activities include assisting Industrial Sales Engineers and Inside Sales Representatives with application review and product selection. Our most successful Sr. Applications Engineers possess superior communication and organizational skills, exhibit goal-oriented behaviors and time management principles, apply extensive attention to detail to all tasks, exude a customer-focused attitude, and are proficient in Microsoft Office. They have experience with other common software products and pump-related software, as well as experience with pumping systems, heat transfer equipment, and process equipment preferred. A strong mechanical aptitude and industrial sales experience with proven results are required. A Technical or Business degree is preferred. Candidates must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test, and must maintain an active driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Industrial Sales Engineers and Inside Sales Representatives with applications, product selection, pricing, etc.
  • Keep current on markets, products, and technologies
  • Joint sales calls with Industrial Sales Engineers to review applications in the field as needed
  • Attend vendor training and meetings as required
  • 'Product Champion' for assigned products
  • Be available to assist all departments within Cummins-Wagner
  • Work with Inside Sales Manager in developing an in-house product training program
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
