About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Application Engineer to support our Medium Voltage (MV) power distribution portfolio. This role focuses on MV switchgear solutions ranging from 5kV to 38kV, including metal-clad, metal-enclosed, arc-resistant, and gas-insulated (GIS) technologies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the application, design support, and optimization of MV solutions, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, industry standards (ANSI/IEEE, IEC), and project requirements. This includes supporting both air-insulated and gas-insulated architectures, with an understanding of their respective applications, benefits, and constraints. A primary responsibility of this role is to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for MV solutions, including materials, labor, and execution scope. The individual will ensure estimates are aligned with design requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and overall business objectives, while maintaining strong margin discipline.

  • 4-8 years of experience in power distribution, electrical systems, or a similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience within the Medium Voltage industry.
  • Experience with power distribution equipment, electrical codes, and standards (e.g., ANSI, NEC, IEEE, IEC, UL, and NEMA).
  • Experience with the design and application of Medium Voltage products and power systems/power delivery.
  • Proficiency in design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions and internal collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in working within small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
