Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. We are looking for a visionary Senior Apparel and Graphic Designer to help shape the expression of our brand beyond our vehicles. In this fully on-site role, you will be responsible for creating compelling and innovative apparel and merchandise that embodies the spirit of Rivian, telling a story of adventure, sustainability, and quality through every product.

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of Rivian's apparel and merchandise collections, from initial concept to final production.
  • Design original, high-quality graphics, prints, and branding elements that reinforce the Rivian brand identity and aesthetic.
  • Act as a brand steward, ensuring all designs align with Rivian's core values of adventure, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Conduct comprehensive trend research and market analysis to inform and influence design direction and material sourcing.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Brand Experience, Merchandise, Vehicle Design, and CMF, to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and tech packs for manufacturers to ensure seamless and accurate production.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to seasonal product calendars and deadlines.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 5+ (preferred) years of professional experience in apparel and/or graphic design.
  • Proven expertise in the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to final production.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Proficiency in 3D fashion design software (e.g., CLO) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of garment construction, materials, and production processes (e.g., screen printing, embroidery, pattern making, and cut and sew).
  • Demonstrated understanding of our brand positioning and ethos, with exposure to premium outdoor brands and knowledge of automotive graphic design.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and personal workflows independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and contribute to shared goals.
  • Capable of operating and thriving in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
  • Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
  • Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
