About The Position

The Supply Strategy team is a community of analysts with a variety of strategic and technical skillsets. We work together to continually improve CarMax's ability to optimize the acquisition, movement, and reconditioning of each of the over 900,000 vehicles we sold to retail customers last year, as well as optimizing our auctions for the over 700,000 wholesale cars we sold to other dealers. Our team tackles complex problems while striving to be a great representation of CarMax's 4 core values: Do the Right Thing, Put People First, Win Together, and Go for Greatness. CarMax relies on our supply chain as a key differentiator, addressing key questions about car acquisition, movement, reconditioning, allocation, and profitability. As we innovate and shift more buying and selling online, we need to answer these questions quickly with less human intervention. Our team of business analysts plays a critical role in unlocking business value by partnering closely with Operations and Product/Technology business partners.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in an analytical or strategic role.
• Four-year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance.
• Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support conclusions.
• Willingness to gain proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL or Tableau.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to people with varying backgrounds and levels of technical familiarity.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to collaborate with a team of passionate analysts and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Be an analytic partner and establish a close working relationship with a product manager or operational partners.
• Design and analyze tests to evaluate effectiveness of changes to products or operational changes.
• Enhance analytical tools, such as models, reports, and dashboards, utilizing them to monitor performance and drive ongoing performance.
