This job exists to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective rail logistics by developing and managing operational plans with service providers (3PLs), by actively monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), by ensuring proper rail fleet and railyard utilization. It encompasses the constant track and trace of rail shipments for sales and transfer orders, and the return of railcars to SABIC or affiliates. How You Can Be the Impact Ensure smooth, efficient, and effective rail operations from all SABIC Plants & operation sites. Pursue appropriate service levels by overseeing Third Party Logistics providers (3PLs), including monitoring and evaluation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure proper execution or loading plan for railcars (cars billed and to be billed) and coordinating with 3PL's fleet utilization. Develop 3PL operational plans and strategies and use metrics and KPIs to drive performance (including Fleet Turnover and Dwell). Track and trace status of shipments of sales orders routed to customers, return of railcars routed to SABIC, and railcars at destination (proof-of-delivery or delivery confirmation). Monitor and ensure proper use of railyard capacity utilization managing inbound and outbound flows with proper visibility report. Manage railcar storage (railyards), asset maintenance, cleaning and loading plans with related functions. Effective execution of invoice auditing and approval of payment processes (analyze spend and create proper accruals for monthly report). Define, review, and control budget for rail operations including accountability for proper execution of Purchase to Pay (P2P) process. Create purchase requisition, work with Procurement to link with contracts, and approve service requests for payments. Utilize specific knowledge of the logistics trends and capabilities to identify areas for cost reductions and saving opportunities. Execute cost reduction projects to help deliver overall rail variable and fixed cost productivity targets. Engage 3PL to identify, prevent and fix problems (including Interface Issues). Key Internal Interactions: Supply Chain Customer Service, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, Procurement, EHS&S Key External Interactions: Logistics vendors (railroads, switching services and railyards, rail fleet maintenance and track & trace vendors, rail cleaning facilities and transloading terminals), rail authorities (e.g. FRA and STB), Affiliates and JVs (mainly site logistics and manufacturing)
