Job Summary: This job consults on and execute payroll projects, partnering cross-functionally to understand risks and communicate mitigation strategies. You will perform full payroll processing, including working with HR and vendors, reviewing reports, making journal entries, and ensuring timely tax and final payments. Additionally, you will maintain documentation, implement systems and controls, and work with audit teams to ensure compliance with policies and SOX 404 requirements. You will also provide reporting support, consult with Finance and HR on information flow, and analyze payroll processes for simplification and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with outsourced payroll platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (SAP SuccessFactors / Employee Central preferred).
  • Exposure to global/multi-country payroll operations.
  • 7 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Coordinator, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of US labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance.
  • Hands-on and proficiency with ADP payroll platforms, Global View (preferred), Celergo Payroll Systems and Streamline payroll software.
  • MS Excel and Office for accurate calculations and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong understanding of benefits such as 401K, Equity (RSU’s) RRSP and HSA
  • Built trusted working relationships with HR, Finance, and HRIS and other stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Consult on and successfully execute payroll projects by partnering cross-functionally, understanding risks and communicating mitigation strategies.
  • Perform full scope of payroll processing, including working with HR and the payroll vendor, reviewing and checking payroll reports and time sheets, making journal entries, and ensuring timely processing of payroll withholding tax and final payments to employees
  • Maintain documentation, implementing the proper systems, controls, processes, procedures and policies are in place
  • Work with internal and external audit teams to ensure payroll integrity and compliance through conformity with all policies, procedures, internal controls and applicable SOX 404 requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day reporting support for vendors and regulatory agencies; support the design and implementation of the global payroll reporting strategy
  • Consult with Finance and HR stakeholders on consistent and accurate flow of information
  • Analyze payroll and time-tracking processes for simplification and cost effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support the business.
