Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years employment based immigration experience
  • Knowledge of US immigration laws, regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of F-1, L-1, H-1B, TN, and permanent labor certification processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the company's organizational structure
  • Knowledge of principles of budget preparation and forecasting
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work under ambiguity, manage change and be proactive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral member of cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert/point of contact for the Constellation Enterprise in matters involving the hiring and employment of foreign national workers.
  • Manage and execute the company's immigration program.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to identify and resolve immigration-related issues.
  • Act as liaison with foreign national employees, management, government agencies, and outside counsel.
  • Corporate signatory for DOL and USCIS immigration-related filings.
  • Train & oversee other analysts on nonimmigrant visa preparation.
  • Manage outside counsel performance and spend.
  • Significantly reduce outside counsel spend by personally preparing and filing nonimmigrant visa petitions.
  • Manage and coordinate immigration applications and petitions, permanent residency process, travel/visa application/stamping, case strategy and status.
  • Prepare and file nonimmigrant visa petitions (H-1B, TN, L-1A) with DOL and USCIS in order to significantly reduce outside counsel spend.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. immigration laws to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Create and develop relationships with key stakeholders (HR, business unit leaders, and foreign national employees) from pre-offer through permanent residency status.
  • Partner with the business and HR to provide immigration solutions, develop strategies, and communicate options throughout all stages of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes.
  • Stay abreast of foreign national employees job changes (locations, duties, terminations) to ensure work status compliance with federal regulations.
  • Apply principles and practices of budget preparation for internal and outside counsel spend.
  • Provide guidance to Talent Acquisition on employment eligibility for potential non-US worker candidates.
  • Provide training and guidance as needed.
