About The Position

The Finance Business Services (FBS) team at The Home Depot serves as a strategic and innovative partner, supporting business growth within a world-class controllership organization. The Senior FBS Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day activities within their assigned tower, such as procure to pay (P2P), Order to Cash (OTC), or Record to Report (R2R). This role involves partnering with internal teams and external business partners to resolve discrepancies and problems. Depending on the specific FBS team, foundational skills in areas like accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL Entry, or financial reporting are required. Sr. Analysts may also be responsible for maintaining, filing, and distributing required documentation. The position involves working on departmental and strategic projects, collaborating with project/product managers, mentoring junior analysts, and managing one's own workload. Sr. Analysts are expected to provide continuous improvement insights and recommendations to management and leaders, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Must be eighteen years of age or older
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED
2 years of relevant work experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs
Thorough understanding of accounting and / or finance principles and practices, statistical methodology, generally accepted accounting principles, and generally accepted auditing standards
Ability to work independently and complete work on schedule within a fast-paced environment
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical, problem solving, and research skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with data analytics / data visualization
Experience with different innovative technologies like RPA, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain is highly desired

Responsibilities

Leverage prior experiences to help develop and recommend solutions
Effectively develop trust and collaboration with internal customers and cross-functional teams in other towers
Collaborate with appropriate team members to gather input and feedback concerning business needs
Understand the technical needs required for successfully tackling business problems
Execute required tasks related to the delivery of the (PTP, OTC, RTR) tower
Work coordinately with other teams providing or receiving information as needed
Support work that needs to be done with internal or external customers
Interpret data contained in reports and ledgers
Provide advice and analysis to increase the efficiency and improve the tasks that are done
Support the work of more junior analysts
Resolve issues and problems related to their job function
Execute month end / year end processes
Monitor and work towards meeting KPIs and SLAs defined for the area
Assist FBS manager with building and interpreting analysis for providing insights to the business
Work with project teams and business partners to complete project goals
Help prioritize assignments and ensure quality and accuracy of work
Seek further knowledge on key developments and trends within finance (e.g., analytics, intelligent automation, robotics)
Participate in the continuous improvement of financial shared services processes and tools
