About The Position

As a Sr. Analyst in Cybersecurity Operations focused on cloud security, you will be a key player in our Cloud Assurance team, providing comprehensive visibility into cloud infrastructures, monitoring for misconfigurations, and proactively detecting threats. This role will primarily focus on security in AWS and GCP cloud environments at PayPal, including security aspects of infrastructure, build pipelines, application design, and cloud-native service and tool design patterns.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in Cloud Security, CSPM.
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language with strong typing.
  • Experience in developing and using RESTful API web services.
  • Familiarity with cloud provider APIs and CLI tools for AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, and Azure Templates.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containers in Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with message queues and RDBMS databases and SQL, such as Postgres.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud Security related certifications (AWS, GCP).
  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science / Cybersecurity or related field.
  • Industry experience or certifications related to CNAPP, CSPM, or Cloud Security.
  • Experience with application observability tools such as Splunk and PagerDuty.
  • Experience managing production environments with Postgres, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with graph structures, data, and graph databases.
  • Compliance knowledge/experience.
  • Automation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Independently apply security best practices to enhance and optimize cyber threat management.
  • Partner with peers and internal teams to drive security initiatives and contribute to cross-functional projects.
  • Analyze and resolve security challenges by adapting standard cyber threat management processes.
  • Influence the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team through informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with key partners to gather and incorporate feedback for continuous improvements in cyber threat management.
  • Onboard Cloud accounts (such as Azure, AWS & GCP) including access grant and enabling policies.
  • Administer CSPM solution managing user roles and audit logs.
  • Discover cloud assets to gain visibility and manage them.
  • Manage Security policies and Benchmarks including configuring CSPs specific security policies.
  • Respond to alerts by monitoring, investigating, and triaging incidents.
  • Manage OS hardening by administering operating system baseline and hardening.
  • Integrate with 3rd party systems managing changes and requests.
  • Provide remediation guidance to stakeholders to fix potential threats.
  • Manage reports providing insights to business and IT stakeholders.
