About The Position

As a Senior Analyst, you'll serve as the agent of record for the referral process in the registered investment advisor (RIA) channel. You'll be a key component to the sales process, reviewing applications from RIA sales for all products. We'll count on you to have frequent contact with clients and to formally recommend a product to them. It will be important to stay current on all regulations, internal procedures and to maintain a level of expertise on all RIA products to meet critical regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • At a minimum, a Series 6 is required at the time of application with the requirement to get a Series 63 and your State Insurance Licenses within 120 days.
  • Undergraduate degree in insurance, sales, business, marketing or related fields preferred.
  • Successful completion of onsite training class, FINRA Series 6, Series 63, and state life license - 120 days post hire - is required.
  • One to three years of relevant industry, sales or customer service experience.
  • Proven knowledge of insurance products.
  • Solid understanding of the state and local laws vital to understanding legal implications of product features in different states.
  • Proven independent judgment and decision-making, ability for relationship building, positive outlook, time management/organization skills, receptive to coaching, ability to balance multiple priorities and excellent communication skills, including professional presence and active listening.

Nice To Haves

  • CFP/CFA certifications encouraged.
  • Series 65 strongly encouraged.
  • Prior sales/customer service experience in financial services strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes information to develop an understanding of the client’s current situation and their needs and objectives.
  • Consults with the client to provide the most appropriate strategies and solutions.
  • Conducts a call with the underlying client and formally makes a recommendation on which product to select.
  • Recommendations are required to be both suitable and in the best interest of the client. Must detail this information for possible regulatory review.
  • Completes applications and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Meets all regulatory requirements under applicable laws.
  • Adheres to all firm compliance and supervisory policies of the broker-dealer and Nationwide Securities, LLC.
  • Manages any state-specific nuances that fall outside of the standard process.
  • Knows all Nationwide Advisory Solutions (NAS) products and processes and serves as a primary point of contact for clients, RIA sales team and the financial advisor with whom they work.
  • Assists the NAS sales team with various requests including portfolio/fund tax analysis, illustrations through Morningstar, fund mapping and cost comparisons.
  • Serves as point of contact for advisors who do not work directly with the Territory Managers and coordinates with sales leaders to support national RIA firms.
  • May performs other responsibilities as assigned.
