We're seeking a senior-level designer to join our Growth and Digital Experience team—with a focus on AI and Growth—who is passionate about simplifying and unifying the experience from our marketing site through our onboarding flow and into our AI/ML products. Reporting to the Creative Director, you'll become a vital part of a vibrant Growth and Digital Experience team that champions an inclusive and supportive environment. Design at DigitalOcean is not just wireframing around complex challenges; we're spearheading the development of simple, powerful tools across our entire ecosystem.

Requirements

  • AI-expertise: Experience working with AI, designing for AI, and selling it.
  • Cloud and/or Platform Experience: Experience designing for cloud infrastructure or platform products.
  • Experience and versatility: Relevant experience from AI platform companies or cloud infrastructure companies.
  • Dynamic engagement: Thrive on engaging with a wide range of projects across the DigitalOcean ecosystem.
  • T-shaped skills: Deep expertise in product design, with broad skills including visual design, development, research, and usability testing.
  • Effective communication and team player: Excel in verbal and written communication, works well within a team.
  • Accessibility advocacy and user-centricity: Prioritize accessible design and understand the needs of both technical and non-technical users.
  • Organization and self-motivation: Maintain highly developed organizational skills and take full responsibility for your work.
  • Lifelong learning and tech-savvyness: Stay updated with the latest in design systems and have a keen interest in technical products.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and act quickly: Move rapidly from opportunity to concept to design, creating multiple options to maintain momentum.
  • Deliver impact: Lead and contribute to projects that drive significant value for customers and the business.
  • Design user flows: Create complete user flows that address current and future needs.
  • Core team member: Influence growth and AI strategy and execution as part of the Digital Experience team with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Designers.
  • Communicate clearly: Articulate and exhibit design perspectives and solutions to complex problems for non-designer audiences.
  • Collaborate technically: Work with engineering to resolve front-end issues and enhance product quality.
  • Drive KPI improvements: Hypothesize how design can impact key performance indicators and solve product and brand challenges.
  • Advance design practices: Implement best practices and introduce industry-leading tools and methods.
  • Foster relationships: Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Contribute to our design system: Collaborate to introduce new elements and share innovations in the design library.
  • Spearhead innovation: Design intuitive and cohesive user experiences that are engaging and straightforward.
  • Empower users: Focus on human-centered design principles to enhance user capabilities and respect their needs.
  • Ensure relevance: Create contextually relevant experiences for users of varying technical proficiency.
