About The Position

As an aerospace engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll assist in the development of components, structures, and systems. Your technical duties involve assisting with the certification aspects of the design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline.
  • Typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Basic awareness of the certification planning process.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry.
  • Background in Project Management.
  • Comfortable reviewing information from various engineering disciplines outside of your specialty.
  • Prior experience with FAA Certification Standards (14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27, 29) and/or Military certification (MIL-HDBK-516) programs.
  • Experience coordinating certification approvals with the GAA.
  • Experience with reading, reviewing, and interpreting technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Familiarity with aircraft flight test.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various aircraft regulators to ensure that the aircraft design is compliant with regulations.
  • Solve a diverse set of problems related to aircraft design and operation.
  • Assist in the development of components, structures, and systems.
  • Support the certification aspects of design and development, analysis, and testing of new products and processes.
