About The Position

GDMS Sr. Advanced Systems Engineers analyze, design, develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system elements. Tasks may include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; developing signal processing architecture and overall system architecture. Our systems typically include digital signal processing algorithms that are implemented in hardware and software for space-based systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Experience with SmallSats and CubeSats development.
  • Hardware Prototype Development, 'FlatSat', 'Hardware Integration', 'Hardware in-the-loop'.
  • Systems Integrations and Test Experience.
  • Electrical Engineering and/or Systems Engineering, particularly with communications or digital signal processing focus.
  • Experience with Agile hardware, software, or firmware development, DevOps, CI/CD.
  • Experience with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)/SySML/MagicDraw/Cameo.
  • Experience in Space Payloads Design, Development or I&T.
