About the position

The Sr. Advanced Software Engineer will be responsible for executing full life cycle solution development and writing well designed, testable, high quality, efficient computer software code. The role operates in an Agile development environment, which is a team-based method for developing software. The engineer will tailor and deploy software tools and processes, contribute to shaping Honeywell offerings and the work environment, and develop solutions in Niagara, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Additionally, the engineer will build and configure hardware systems to test software, design at an expert level, deploy, use, and teach both the Eclipse and IntelliJ environments, and act as a subject matter expert in conventional & transcritical CO2 refrigeration as well as Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). The role also includes performing code reviews and mentoring offshore teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience with software development.
  • Hands-on HVAC & refrigeration domain experience.
  • Experience writing well designed, testable, high quality control code.
  • Experience operating in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience developing new building control & refrigeration solutions in Tridium Niagara, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with minimal supervision.
  • Experience building and configuring refrigeration hardware systems to test software.
  • Experience deploying and using both the Eclipse and IntelliJ development environments.
  • Experience acting as a refrigeration subject matter expert.
  • Experience acting as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) subject matter expert.
  • Experience providing customer-facing software demonstration.
  • Experience performing code reviews, testing software on hardware systems, and mentoring offshore teams.
