About The Position

As Sr Advanced Semiconductor Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing silicon-based microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensor technologies for medical, commercial, industrial, automotive, defense, and space applications. This role combines innovative research with practical engineering applications, contributing to advancement of cutting-edge sensor technologies in the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will impact the development of new materials and processes that enhance the performance and capabilities of our MEMS sensors, contributing to Honeywell's commitment to innovation and excellence in technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as applied physics, chemistry, materials science, physics, chemical engineering, electrical engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering roles, with a focus on semiconductor sensor design, semiconductor process development, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), or related technologies.
  • Experience with Semiconductor manufacturing or design.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor materials and processes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent written communication with proficiency in documenting processes and findings clearly.

  • Understanding of physical principles relevant to semiconductor and/or MEMS technologies.
  • Skills in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and offer technical solutions to complex issues in semiconductor design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize processes for MEMS design and fabrication, focusing on innovative material solutions.
  • Develop sensor chip design for air flow, liquid flow, magnetic, chemical, electrochemical, and pressure sensing.
  • Conduct process development for semiconductor manufacturing, focusing on innovative techniques to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Conduct research on new materials, their properties, and compatibility with existing manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Technology group to ensure manufacturability of die being researched.
  • Oversee and collaborate with a cross-functional team including the Richardson fab engineering group, quality, planning, fab management, HSE, and packaged parts group to transition die from development into manufacturing.
  • Ensure that products are delivered on time and meet customer specifications.
  • Support scaling of processes from laboratory to pilot and production levels.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in MEMS technologies, materials science, and related fields.
