About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations. This is a great opportunity to expand your accounting and leadership skills and play a key role in shaping our department. This key leadership role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, maintenance of a robust system of accounting records, and the implementation of comprehensive controls and budgets to mitigate risk. The Sr. Accounting Manager ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP and supports strategic financial decision-making. This position reports directly to the VP of Accounting and Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred).
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 4+ years of management experience.
  • Public accounting experience with a Big 4 firm is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong experience in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Experience managing general ledger functions and overseeing monthly/annual close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the corporate accounting department, ensuring the accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports, including internal/external financial statements, annual audits, and budgets.
  • Manage finance and accounting activities, including accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports, and cash control.
  • Lead the annual budget preparation process by developing schedules and consolidating/analyzing financial data.
  • Review and analyze revenues, commissions, and expenses to ensure accurate monthly recording.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and support the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements; identify and explain budget variances.
  • Maintain and improve internal control documentation and monitoring practices.
  • Prepare and summarize monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and other key reports.
