About The Position

The US Omega Accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic and growing organization. This team manages the first cross-segment, cross-business unit ledgers to go live on Omega, our new Oracle Cloud platform. Once fully implemented, the team oversees GL and accounting functions for all corporate and operational entities under the US NOV LP legal entity, supporting over 6,000 employees across all NOV segments and Corporate. This role presents a unique opportunity to not only lead core accounting functions but also drive system implementations and process improvements, playing a key role in shaping the future of our accounting operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (Required)
  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience (Required)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Process oriented
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in accounting or finance (Preferred)
  • CPA certification or actively working toward completion (Preferred)
  • Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm (Preferred)
  • Prior experience in a public company (Preferred)
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud (Omega) (Preferred)
  • Prior industry experience (Preferred)
  • Background in technical accounting and/or auditing (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review month-end close reports, financial statements, and analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of period close processes, reporting requirements, and journal entries, ensuring timely completion in alignment with company deadlines.
  • Continuously update and enhance accounting policies and procedures to support best practices and efficiency improvements.
  • Create and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits, compiling and preparing supporting schedules, workpapers, and financial reports for both internal and external audits.
  • Monitor and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting matters.
  • Ensure adherence to NOV's corporate policies and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines.
