About The Position

The Sr. Accounting Analyst and Reporting will assist in preparing SEC filings (including iXBRL), and other external reports. The role involves researching and documenting technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with GAAP, including discussing the analysis and conclusions with senior management and outside experts. The analyst will assist management in the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory guidance, perform special projects including managing the project across departments until completion, providing recommendations, working through problem resolution, and identifying & implementing improvements. Additional responsibilities include assisting with monthly soft-close and month-end close procedures, preparing journal entries and reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts, reviewing and analyzing financial reports by developing summaries and interpretations, monitoring quarterly compliance with internal controls, and assisting in fulfilling audit requests from internal and external auditors. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience at a large accounting firm or finance department.
  • CPA designation.
  • Knowledge of finance & accounting principles.
  • Demonstrates financial analysis and strategy abilities.
  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to train, coach and motivate staff.
  • Demonstrates decision making, analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates time management & organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • SEC financial reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion.

Responsibilities
