About The Position

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting and communication of results for the ubreakifix by asurion entities. The Sr. Accountant will also be responsible for collaborating with the Partner program teams, Lease Accounting team, operational teams (workplace solutions, facilities, franchise operations) and FP&A teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial results. The Sr. Accountant will assist during month end close and create relevant supporting documentation for journal entry preparation and will have opportunities to drive improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the ubreakifix by asurion accounting functions. Analyze and interpret the ubreakifix by asurion financial results and communicate this information throughout all levels of the organization. Prepare accounting journal entries primarily related to revenue, deferrals, and corp store and Franchisor outbound payments and post in Microsoft DAX. Coordinate with other ubreakifix by asurion team members and Asurion teams to ensure that intercompany revenue and expense are appropriately identified and eliminated. Prepare multiple account reconciliations with a heavy focus on accounts receivable. Assist in the compilation of the ubreakifix by asurion monthly reporting process by providing insight and analysis into various accounting issues that arise. Coordinate audit support for engagements conducted by internal and external auditors. Enhance the documentation of key internal controls and procedures. Identify best practices and create ideas for process improvements. Research and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of academic and professional excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports and/or technical documents. In addition, the ability to respond effectively to clients, employees and management and handle sensitive and/or confidential communications is required.
  • This position requires proficiency in a variety of accounting and office applications including but not limited to, the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • This position requires advanced mathematical and statistical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and interpret complex numbers, financial data and reports. The ability to apply such concepts to create reports and financial records and present them effectively is also required.
  • Must be able to develop complex formulas to perform needed calculations and demonstrate how data was derived.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/MBA is a plus.
  • CPA certification and/or continuing advanced Business degree is a plus.
