About The Position

Southwest Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Sr Accountant who will be responsible for outpatient scheduling, verification of insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations for multiple facilities across the region. The position will be located at our Southwest Regional Office supporting the Accounting functions for multiple facilities across the Region. Hybrid opportunity is open for discussion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in Accounting required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Excel and Word.
  • Must have the ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills in all situations.
  • Must be able to use the following: SMS, AS400, Computer, Calculator (10-Key Proficient), Fax Machine, LaserJet Printer, AS400 Printer, SMS Printer.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare Accounting experience, preferred.
  • CPA or other professional certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accuracy of entries to the general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts.
  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded .
  • Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
  • Assist with training of department team members as needed.
